Sugina(すぎな)Field horsetail, common horsetail

Sugina is Equisetum arvnense.

In Japan, early spring Sugina grows everywhere.  They are infamous cannot exterminate.  Although nowadays Sugina tea, that is dried Sugina is in boom.  Because they say Sugina tea cures pollinosis though there is no clear evidence.  Sugina is used as diuretic agent from forefathers.

Their flavor is similar to lemongrass, but not so much lemon like.  As for tea, it taste smooth, make me refresh.  You can use Sugina tea as bath additives.  It makes your skin smooth.

Shakaw (Kachin) Great cardamon

Shakaw is used as a spice with other two kinds of spices in Myanmar.
Shakaw, Pakaw, and Majyang is the trio to cook curry, seasoned fishes and meats.
They are also used for to make Naw Hpu.
Naw Hpu is fermented small soy beans (in Kachin they call Naw Hpu Shring Kra).
With Naw Hpu Spring Kra and those 3 spices, they make spicy dry Naw Hpu.

This great cardamon is also called black cardamon.

Thitsi

Title: Thitsi
Purpose: good for cold.  When it is cold,  they use this to make a soup to warm up their body.  When you twist ankle, you rub with oil of Thitsi. Thitsi turns oil when it warm.

Title: Macadamia nuts

Purpose: good for elders health.  Its oil is good for curing scratches, and brain.

Hting Ke

Title: Hting Ke,  Dokudami  Houttuynia cordata  

Purpose: Good for eyes

Target:

Web diary: In Myanmar, they make salad with Lape(fermented tea leaf) .  They call it Lapeto.
In Japan, they call this Dokudami.
Dokudami in Japan famous as Jyuyaku(十薬)in traditional medicine.  It is good for high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis and diuretic.  It is also ingredient of detoxify medicine in traditional medicine.

Shin Tawm Pan

Title:Shin Twam Pan

Purpose: this herb uses only for cooking, just add good smell.
This smells like lemon and lime

Target:

I make herb tea with this herbs, turmeric and zinger.
Ingredients:
Shin Twam Pan ( I will add Photo)
Zinger 1 small spoon
Turmeric 1/4 small spoon
How to make:
Slice zinger and turmeric (photo below)
Cut Shin Twam Pan
Mix all into bawl
Add hot water (500ml)
Wait 5 minutes

Bael Fruit

Bael fruit   ផ្លែភ្នៅ  Aegle marmelos

  • Purpose: In Cambodia, people use as medicine to treat​ stomachache, and use for beauty as well (drink for skin care).
    The way of using is slice the young fruit and dry with the sunlight to keep long and boil when we need to to drink.

    Kawashima san said there are same dry fruit in India, it tasted very bad.  When I see her photo it seems dried and sugar coated.  Is there any plain dried bael fruit in India?

Commonly grow in forest.​ The fruit is sweet when it ripe.
This time, CWA Cambodia tried to make tea using the difference way, and pack whenever we want to drink will be easy.
After process as tea, it’s better to make a tea and drink as soon as possible. The taste is sweet, otherwise will be sour.
